Discipleship & Formation
It would be great if we all had the time each day to just study God's Word and then go out and live it. But that's not reality. Life is complicated. Somehow, though, in the midst of all of our busyness and complications God has a way of getting through to us. But we do need to do our part. The first is to recognize we all have difficulties. Life can get messy. Next, we need to realize that we all need Jesus and we need one another. All of us, praying & working together, in our parish community are here to help each other entrust our lives to Jesus and then to help each of us live out a life of discipleship.
Our ministries at St. Edith are aimed at first helping to create encounters with Jesus and then to focus on the teachings of the faith that equip us with a foundation and resources to share our relationship with the Lord with others as best we can not only as individuals, but as a collective face within our community. A wonderful quote from Pope Francis', "Joy of the Gospel," is, The parish is the presence of the Church in a given territory, an environment for hearing God’s word, for growth in the Christian life, for dialogue, proclamation, charitable outreach, worship and celebration" (Evangelii Gaudium #28).
We pray that our ministries help us be just that.
